Most of our time is spent in our bedroom, so creating a cozy environment to relax and sleep in is so important. There is so much going on in our lives, so making sure our bedroom is cozy, yet still organized and calming each night when we come to bed is so important. Here are my five tips for how to decorate a cozy bedroom.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO DECORATE A COZY BEDROOM
A Comfortable Bed
First, the rule of creating a cozy bedroom is having a comfortable bed. The definition of a comfortable bed can differ from one person to another, so make sure you find a bed that works for you. We absolutely love our bed. Roderick always says that our bed is too comfortable because he does not want to get out of bed in the morning.
Bedding
Opt for white bedding. This gives you a neutral backdrop you can easily layer with blankets and pillows to add color and texture.
Flowers
I love having fresh flowers next to my bed. I pick them up weekly at my local Kroger. I tend to opt for hydrangeas because they are inexpensive and I love how full they are. Choose whatever flowers you love, if you grow flowers in the Spring and Summer this would be a great place to use them. Art
I love using art that is personal to you above your nightstand. My MIL gave me the horse that is above my nightstand. Random fact about me…I grew up riding horses and showed competitively in hunter-jumpers until I left for college. Hunter-jumpers is a style of horseback riding where you jump over fences.
Books
I always keep a few books that I’m reading next to my bed. Books also make for great decor. I always stack them with the spine facing out.
