Nothing says fall quite like a delicious cup of hot apple cider. It's a fall staple that you can easily simmer for a few hours in your slow cooker, and you will be left with delicious results. This recipe is perfect to serve up at your next fall dinner party or at Thanksgiving. It also will make your home smell amazing. See the recipe below.
The weather is quickly changing from summer to fall in Denver, and even though I am sad to see the warm weather go, I always love fall and winter time. When the weather cools down, I love drinking hot apple cider. I made this recipe last Thanksgiving and it was SO delicious.
You can just throw all of the ingredients into a slow cooker and in a few hours you will have the best homemade hot apple cider. If you are up for it, you can serve your homemade hot apple cider on a hot apple cider station.
WHAT IS IN HOT APPLE CIDER?
This will depend on your recipe. My recipe calls for apple juice, rather than using a bottle of apple cider. I prefer using apple juice rather than a bottle of apple cider because I can add my own spices too it, instead of buying cider that already has spices in it. I will say that if you have a change to visit an apple orchard this fall and they sell hot apple cider ALWAYS buy it. You will never regret that!
HOW TO SERVE HOT APPLE CIDER?
Once my hot apple cider is done cooking in the slow cooker I like to transfer it to a glass beverage dispenser like the one pictured above. Then, I set the hot apple cider on a sturdy cake stand, so that it is easy to use the spout on the dispenser. Arrange some cups on either side of the dispenser along with whatever you plan to serve your cider with. If you are looking for a way to enhance your apple cider station you can add in a fun fall floral arrangement and some apples for decor.
